Welcome to the UK Ultra Springtide 50k. A single loop Spring run, starting and finishing in the beautiful, Historic Town of Arundel, West Sussex. This is a very runnable, non-technical route through the South Downs and is a perfect early season ultra for both beginners, seasoned runners, and anyone with plans of taking part in longer races later in the year. The views of the Downs are stunning with rolling hills, grass trails, farm tracks and forest paths making up the route. Starting by Arundel Castle, runners will head up to the Downs before heading through Houghton Forest and Eartham Wood. The route will then loop back towards Findon, through the stunning Angmering Park and Wepham Woods before finishing along the River Arun back to the castle. A great route! There is just over 3000ft of elevation and as with all our races, it is fully marked for easy navigation. It is a UTMB Index race and worth 2 ITRA points.
This race will also form part of the new South Downs 50K Triple Crown if you wish to enter.
South Downs Triple Crown 50k.
Permit: Our permits are granted through the ARC. Permit number ARC/25/0231
Entries are available on a first come, first served basis and once it is full, they will be closed. A waitlist will be in operation once full. No qualifier is needed in order to participate so anyone above the age of 20 is welcome to run. Entries will close 2 weeks prior to the race or once entry limits are reached.
Any time up until January 3rd 2026 you are entitled to a 50% refund. After this time no refunds will be given. The only exception to this is pregnancy. In this case if you inform us before the race you will receive a full refund.
If you can no longer make the event, there is the option of deferring your place to 2026 or transferring it to another runner. Deferrals to the following year can only be made up until one week before race day and transferring to another runner must only be done one week before and, not after. Deferrals can only be made once. Pregnant women will be able to defer their place to 2027/28 if they wish and for a further 2 years if they fall pregnant again within that period. Please email neil@ukultra.co.uk if you wish to do either of these.
We want highly competitive races at the sharp end of the fields and, welcome elite runners to come and compete. We do reserve places for elites and have packages in place to help. These are decided on an individual basis by the Race Director. If you are an elite runner and would like to take part, then please email neil@ukultra.co.uk.
